The Pattani Biennale 2026 is an international exhibition of artists, which through artworks, concepts, processes, and conversations, offers a glimpse into the atmosphere and direction of art in 2026. It is a contemporary art festival that opens public space for people to recognize one another's value as human beings, while questioning the relationship between art and the real world.
Pichai is honored to be among the artists invited to participate in this year's Biennale, and will be showing a number of installation pieces from both his Net Loss and recent Beyond Loss series that delve into the profound personal hardships and losses faced by fishing communities in Pattani province in the south of Thailand.
Building on the Net Loss exhibition in 2024, that explored the impact on Thai fishing communities in Pattani province in the south of Thailand in the aftermath of the destruction of unlicensed fishing vessels, Beyond Loss is a personal reflection by the artist on what it all has meant and the emotional toll in telling the stories of these fishing communities. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the human cost in a world undergoing upheaval, but also holds out the hope for a new future.
